Nathan Gibson is an associate LPC/MHSP. He graduated from Milligan University in 2017 with an accounting degree and worked for several years in the corporate world before making the decision to pursue counseling. He completed his master’s degrees in counseling from East Tennessee State University in 2024. Through his own lived experiences, he has developed a genuine passion for this field and loves collaborating with others as they seek healing in their own lives.

Nathan believes that it’s not merely what happened in the past that causes our current pain, but the way we have allowed past events to influence and shape how we experience ourselves in the present. Through an existential and client-centered approach, he strives to foster an environment where clients feel seen and heard. He sees individuals 16 years and older from all walks of life. He primarily works with grief/loss, trauma, low self-esteem, behavioral addictions, anxiety, depression, lack of purpose, and religious trauma. He is passionate about working with LGBTQ+ populations. His therapeutic approach combines a variety of evidence-based approaches, but primarily pulls from narrative, existential, and internal family system theories.

He is passionate about creating safe spaces where people can show up fully and uninhibitedly. In a world where there are so many voices, his desire is for clients to find their own. He believes that working together in a compassionate and curious way can help others discover the lightness and peace that they have been searching for. Nathan considers it a tremendous honor to be invited into someone’s story and looks forward to working together to create a hopeful future.
